We feel awkward including registry information on this site, but our move to London makes the registry process a bit more complicated than just going to www.weddingchannel.com for everything. London has not mastered the bridal registry market as has North America. Since the cost of shipping and duties from North America to London approximates the cost of a gift, registering in the New World doesn't work for many gifts.
Happily, we've stumbled upon several solutions. The following are our registry sites, with some logistical explanations.
The Wedding List
Our registry knight in shining armor -- and our primary registry site for crystal, flatware, cookware and all of the other usual suspects. If you would like to see the gifts in person before buying, most of our cookware and crystal are available at department stores such as Bloomingdale's and Macys.
The Wedding List registry is available by phone at +44 20 7584 1222 and also online at www.theweddinglist.co.uk. Click on "Gift Givers" at the left and enter either of our last names. Finally, click on our names and wedding dates to enter the registry and shop. Purchases may be made on-line, or by telephone or fax. Note that since the New York store closed, the site has changed from its old URL at www.weddinglist.com.
One outstanding feature of this registry is that all taxes and shipping charges are included in the listed prices. We have also found that prices are considerably lower here for our crystal than at U.S. department stores. Gifts will be shipped directly to us in London. The Wedding Channel
We are also registered for selected items at two American stores, Tiffany & Co. and Bloomingdales. Both are on www.weddingchannel.com. Enter one of our first and last names and then click on "Multiple Registries". Finally, click on the name of the store where you'd prefer to shop. See below for more details.
Tiffany & Co.
This registry includes lovely decorative items, such as vases and candlesticks. Items can either be purchased directly from stores or online at www.tiffany.com. At the bottom of the homepage, click on "Bridal Registry" and then enter either of our names. Tiffany has the same products in North America and Europe, however, prices in North America are considerably lower, so we're on the U.S. registry and items will be shipped to Karen's parents in Virginia.
Bloomingdale's
Our Bloomingdale's registry has beautiful linens for throughout our home. Items can either be purchased directly from stores or online at www.Bloomingdales.com. At the top right, click on "Registry". Then, click on "Guests" at the center of the page and enter either of our names. Gifts will be shipped to Karen's parents in Virginia.
